Cheerleader Sach
4-26-2003 I’d just like to take this moment – and webspace – to congratulate my friend Sach for becoming an Auburn University cheerleader! I haven’t ever tried out or anything, but from what I’ve seen, heard, witnessed, etc., it’s a hard thing to accomplish. I’d like to take this
moment to think deeply about what we would do without cheerleaders.
*deep thinking* I suppose it’s good to have cheerleaders doing
what they do best, leading cheers. Otherwise, fans might decide
to do their own cheerleading, which could unfortunately take the form
of rioting, violence, rushing the field, etc. For example: my college’s
football team recently beat the number one team in the nation, so students
rushed the field, got beaten down by cops, tore down one set of goalposts,
tried to take it into the stands, and almost went after the other set
of goalposts (but cops were there to threaten a beat-down). Oh yeah,
but cheerleaders were there. Whatever.
